Noise barriers

Effect and Benefits of Noise Barrier Walls

Noise barrier walls are used to reduce the noise generated by roads, railway tracks, airports, or other loud sources. They interrupt the direct propagation of sound from the emission source to the protected area. A disruption of the line of sight between the noise source and the receiving location reduces the noise level by approximately 5 decibels. If the barrier surpasses the line of sight by one meter, the reduction can reach around 10 dB(A).

The advantages of noise barrier walls are:

  • Noise Reduction: Noise barrier walls can significantly reduce the noise level, creating better acoustics in residential and work areas.
  • Improved Quality of Life: By reducing noise, the quality of life in residential areas can be enhanced, providing peace and relaxation.
  • Increased Property Value: Improved acoustics can increase the value of properties, particularly in noise-affected areas.

Environmentally Friendly: Noise barrier walls are an environmentally friendly solution as they reduce the need for sound dampers or other technical devices.

Installation of Noise Barrier Walls

Whether in road or rail areas, in private or public spaces, noise protection measures are indispensable in the transportation sector.

Noise barrier walls have a noise-reducing effect; they partially prevent the propagation of sound. This way, noise reductions of up to 20 dB(A) can be achieved.

During installation, proper site safety measures must be considered, as these installations often occur in high-traffic areas. It is important to execute the installation carefully to ensure effective noise reduction. The choice of the right sound-absorbing material and proper installation can also make a difference in achieving effective noise reduction.
